Aisyah was a scholar who had just graduated. She lived in a village, Ciwidey, that has strong Islamic values. She devoted herself as a teacher and was sent to work in a village, called Derok, in Nusa Tenggara Timur, which the majority of the people is not Moslem.
“Demi Ucok” (79 mins)
Gloria, a middle-aged Bataknese woman, doesn’t want to be like her mother: getting married, forgetting her dream, and being disappointed thereafter. She wants to fulfil her dream of becoming a movie maker. Her mother has a serious disease and probably will live only for one more year. She wants to see Gloria find a husband before she dies.

“Mirror Never Lies” (100 mins)
Pakis is a young girl from a fishing community of the Bajau people in Wakatobi, Sulawesi, part of the Coral Triangle. Her father was lost in the sea. Pakis is very devastated. She decides to visit a shaman who conducts a ritual to search for her father using a mirror’s surface.
